Fitness Programs

Fitness Programs, Equipment Information for the Media

Form & Fitness provides analysis, coaching, classes and equipment to its members, many of the systems which are new to the state of Wisconsin. Consult Form & Fitness when you require physiological data and information about fitness trends. Members who have experienced improvement in their lifestyles after using these programs are available upon request.

Group Exercise – From Pilates to spinning to colorized yoga, Form & Fitness meets members’ increased demand for exercise in group settings. Group Power provides 60-minutes of motivating moves meant to strengthen muscles. Cardio KICKboxing is a 60-minute fusion class of martial arts and boxing geared toward cardio fitness and body shaping. Group GROOVE is a 60-minute fitness dance program that includes urban and Latin dance styles with chart topping hits and retro classic tunes. STEP utilizes the step in multiple positions and heights in a 60-minute cardio program that strengthens and shapes the lower body. Solid to the CORE focuses on functional training which helps participants move flexibly and comfortably during their everyday activities.

New Leaf Active Metabolic Assessment -- The New Leaf Metabolic measurement is based on a person’s response to exercise. It analyzes the volume of oxygen consumed (VO2) and carbon dioxide produced (VCO2) in a controlled setting to determine the type of fuels a body uses, or the "metabolic profile." A Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) assessment measures the amount of energy used at rest. The RMR is then adjusted by an activity to produce the number of calories burned in a typical day. The RMR may be used to identify a person’s caloric needs for a weight loss program (e.g. 2000 calories per day).

• An exercise metabolic assessment measures oxygen consumed and carbon dioxide produced along with heart rate during exercise, with a gradual increase in intensity until the client reaches a point where he/she is able to collect the desired exercise "metabolic profile." Data such as heart rate, oxygen consumed (VO2 Max), and Anaerobic Threshold (AT) are measured and used to develop a custom training program. Target heart rates are scientifically determined by a metabolic profile during exercise and may be incorporated into a fitness or weight loss training program taught by an exercise specialist.

The New Leaf Active Metabolic Assessment allows people learn how to train smarter, not harder.

Parisi Speed School -- From seven-year-olds to professional athletes, the Parisi Speed School is one of the nation’s leaders that help people become faster, stronger and more self-confident. Form & Fitness is the first in Wisconsin to implement the program begun by former college athlete, Bill Parisi, in New Jersey. Parisi has helped more than 40,000 athletes from every level achieve goals that range from enhanced coordination to earning a spot on a professional sports roster.

Each participant is guided through a performance assessment during which certified trainers teach Parisi’s signature warmup, conduct a Running Analysis Procedure and a battery of physical speed and strength tests. Based on those results, parents and athletes meet with the trainer to select a program that best fits their needs. The Parisi program becomes more instrumental in the lives of young people as physical fitness classes are increasingly cut from school curricula, and childhood obesity rises to epidemic levels.

Personal Training – Form & Fitness’ certified personal trainers help members realistically set and achieve their fitness goals. The organization provides one of the most credentialed personal training staffs in the state of Wisconsin. Each trainer evaluates clients individually to create a custom focused fitness agenda. There are some people who visit Form & Fitness to lose weight; others work to tone their bodies and others who want to increase strength. Personal training is offered in 30-minute, 45-minute and one-hour increments.

Power-Plate Advanced Vibration Technology®, produces a vibration that is transferred to the body. It is based on the premise that when the body senses instability (in this case a vibration,) muscles involuntarily contract to compensate. The result is improved muscle strength and performance. Power-Plate has also been proven to improve hip density and posture control in postmenopausal women.

More than four decades of scientific research on Vibration has been used to explore the effects of whole- body vibration on groups that include astronauts and transportation workers. Clients that range from world-class athletes to rehabilitation patients use Power-Plate to improve their fitness and performance on the field.

Equipment such as the Cybex Arc Trainer, plyometric trainers, stair climbers and treadmills are wired to cable television and music to keep cardio exercisers inspired and moving.
