New Leaf Metabolic Testing
Previously only available to high caliber athletes, metabolic assesments can help you exercise smarter, NOT harder!

New Leaf Active Metabolic Assessment --
The New Leaf Metabolic measurement is based on a person’s response to exercise. It analyzes the volume of oxygen consumed (VO2) and carbon dioxide produced (VCO2) in a controlled setting to determine the type of fuels a body uses, or the "metabolic profile." A Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) assessment measures the amount of energy used at rest. The RMR is then adjusted by an activity to produce the number of calories burned in a typical day. The RMR may be used to identify a person’s caloric needs for a weight loss program (e.g. 2000 calories per day).
• An exercise metabolic assessment measures oxygen consumed and carbon dioxide produced along with heart rate during exercise, with a gradual increase in intensity until the client reaches a point where he/she is able to collect the desired exercise "metabolic profile." Data such as heart rate, oxygen consumed (VO2 Max), and Anaerobic Threshold (AT) are measured and used to develop a custom training program. Target heart rates are scientifically determined by a metabolic profile during exercise and may be incorporated into a fitness or weight loss training program taught by an exercise specialist.
