Getting Started...

January 30, 2020

Getting started on your fitness journey is difficult. Not everyone is the same, but I believe to make lasting change, your fitness choice should include these three things.

1) FIND SOMETHING THAT'S FUN AND ACTUALLY START IT.

We're all partially kids at heart. We want to do something that sounds fun and engaging. It's so easy to fall into the decision paralysis. When it comes to fitness there are infinite choices. You know what's going to get you going in the right direction? Actually starting something!

In the beginning, anything will move the needle and we are proud of you for taking that first step! Do something. It's going to feel great!

2) INCLUDE RESISTANCE TRAINING.

THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ANY MODALITY OF EXERCISE YOU'RE ABLE TO STICK WITH. YOU'RE GOING TO BE HEALTHIER NO MATTER WHAT IT IS (AS LONG AS IT'S NOT CAUSING YOU INJURY). HOWEVER, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THE BEST RESULTS IN THE SHORTEST AMOUNT OF TIME, RESISTANCE TRAINING (A.K.A. STRENGTH TRAINING) IS YOUR BEST CHOICE.

This is the best solution for general weight/fat loss goals. Strength training raises your metabolism for up to 36 hours after your session helping you burn more calories. Pair this with a small changes to your diet and you have a recipe for a new you in 2020!

3) DON'T DO IT ALONE. LET US HELP.

Find a training environment. Yes, anything will move the needle but you're much more likely to make the progress you want if you have someone to guide you! Why is this important?

2 reasons

1. You're unique and you need help navigating this new endeavor. You may have injuries that need to be considered. You may have some exercise experience or none at all. You may be naive and need some hand holding. A trainer can take the person you are and figure how to communicate and progress you through this new fitness experience to help you feel successful. That in itself is worth the investment.

2. Exercise like so many other commitments in life are never without challenges. A trainer or community will help you navigate the tough times. You will get sick. Family and life commitments will get in the way.

Sound about right?

A TRAINER will give you guidance on what to do when life gets in the way. This is huge for long-term success.

The benefits of following these three tips are intangible and that's one of the hardest parts about starting a fitness routine. It's almost impossible to fathom how much better you can feel by starting to exercise regularly. We believe these 3 tips are true though:

Start something. Lift some weights. Ask for a professionals help.

Benefits of exercise may include:
• Better mood
• More energy
• Clothes feeling better
• Increased self confidence
• Improved quality of life

These things and so much more are possible. You can't even imagine. If you want to be healthier in the new year, these tips will help.
